Why do people sell on ebay. They treat their sellers like scum. Do they not understand that without sellers they are just an empty space. Sellers are the lifeblood of ebay as they have no products of their own, yet they treat their sellers as criminals. They withhold payment if a buyer makes a complaint whether the complaint is justified or not. The bottom line is the goods have been shipped postage has been paid, it should be between the buyer and seller, nothing to do with eBay. They hold payment for new sellers meaning until the buyer has received the goods and said all is OK the seller is out of pocket, having had to send the item, pay packing and postage. Should the buyer raise an issue your account is screwed b4 you start. Many corrupt buyers are on the lookout for new accounts. EBay actually are acting unlawfully by withholding your money and acting as judge. It is not their money to hold. They are merely the advertising board. The most they can withhold is their fees for advertising. They actually should not get involved in any disputes as they can never know for certain either way who is correct. They are acting as banker and judge when they have no right to be either. You may argue if you are honest then it shouldn't matter, well firstly many people are selling their goods because they have no money asking them to pay for postage packing and time when a dodgy buyer could stop them getting paid is not fair and could send them over the edge, secondly not all buyers are honest and will try it on. Why do ebay get to be judge and jury just becasue they have a website. The fact that ebay get to decide who is right or wrong is not ok. I have sold many items online I have mainly sold through bank transfer as I want to decide if I'm in the wrong or whether the buyer is. The few times there was something wrong the buyer was refunded. But as a seller you know whether you sold them a dud or not and should do the honest thing. I understand they are trying to make it a safe place, but treating their customers (sellers) like criminals is not ok. I honestly do not understand why any single person sells on ebay. Plus most of the time people don't even make money. Use our ebay calculator to see if you really did make any profit selling on ebay. It amazes me that people are happy with 50p profit for their time and effort. You deserve better than that. I've sold more on facebook market place or gumtree without having to leave my house, no packing, no postage, no dodgy buyers, just straight up cash exchange and bingo sold and all are happy. I do think people need to revolt against ebay, they really do think they are judge and jury and have ruined many people's lives as they will pull your seller status if someone complains against you. Often with zero evidence.
